I think it is more important now than ever to understand the nature and origins of literature, with such rapidly evolving technology, so we are equipped to develop the future of this field, even though the book as we know it might be a threatened species.
Exploring the differences of the literary genres, and how they can be used to emphasise aspects of a work is something I find very interesting, and I find as much joy in reading the manuscript of Lars von Trier's "Dancer in the Dark", as in Homer's epic poems or the lyrics of Nick Cave.
